The sign-up sorts the food. The Friendsgiving Planner keeps everything around it: who is coming, who brings which dish, what is still missing, and who owes whom for the shared costs.

Friendsgiving potluck questions
How many dishes do I need for a Friendsgiving potluck?
A good rule: about one side for every three or four guests, at least one salad or vegetable (two for a big group), one bread, one dessert for every six to eight guests, and one or two people on drinks and ice. The host usually makes the main. The maker uses exactly these numbers.
How do I stop everyone bringing dessert?
Give every dish a slot and fill it. When people can see that the dessert slots are taken and three sides are still open, they pick a side. Handing out the dishes yourself, then letting people swap, works even better.
What should the host make?
Usually the main (a turkey, a turkey breast or a big vegetarian centerpiece), plus drinks, ice and plates. Untick any of them and they go on the sign-up instead.
How do I handle allergies and diets?
Ask once, in the same message as the sign-up, and ask every cook to label their dish: gluten-free, vegetarian, contains nuts. The printed sheet has a column for the label.
What about oven space?
Ask each cook whether their dish needs reheating and at what temperature. If several need the oven at once, ask some to arrive ready to serve. The sheet has an oven column for this.
Does this save my guest list?
No. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is stored or sent. Print the sheet, copy the message or download the CSV before you close the page.
