Stocking stuffer questions
How much should I spend on stocking stuffers?
There is no right number; it is whatever fits after the main gifts. A simple way to set it: decide the total for all the stockings first, then let the calculator split it, so the kids' stockings match and nobody's runs over. Put in the number that feels comfortable and see what it buys per little gift.
How many stocking stuffers go in one stocking?
Five to eight small things fill most stockings. If one of them is a slightly bigger favorite, five or six is plenty. A clementine and a candy cane fill the toe and the top for very little.
How do I keep stockings fair between siblings?
Give each child the same budget and the same number of gifts. Kids count the gifts as much as they notice the price, so matching both is what feels fair on Christmas morning. The calculator gives every kid and teen the same share and the same number of little gifts.
What should go in a stocking?
A mix works best: something sweet, something to play with or make, something to read, something useful, and a little keepsake. The plan follows that mix for each age, and pets get treats and toys.
Do grown-ups and pets get a full share?
Your choice. Pick "Everyone the same" for equal stockings, or "Kids first", where kids and teens get a full share, babies and grown-ups half, and pets a quarter.
Does this save my list?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing is stored or sent. Print the plan or download the CSV before you close the page.
