How much should I budget for Christmas gifts?
There is no single right number. Start from what you can spend without borrowing, then divide it among everyone on your list. Many families set a fixed total in November, then adjust the amounts per person so the total never moves.
Why set aside part of the budget for wrapping and shipping?
Wrapping paper, tape, gift bags, postage and last-minute extras are easy to forget and they add up. The calculator holds back 10% by default so the gifts themselves stay inside your real limit. Change it to any percentage up to 50%.
What does the even split do?
It divides the money left for gifts by the number of people you named and fills in that amount for each, rounded down to the cent. You can then change any single amount, for example more for a partner and less for a coworker.
Does it save my list?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is stored or sent anywhere, so print the list before you close the page. A spreadsheet planner keeps the list from year to year.
Can I plan for more than gifts?
