Wedding guest count estimator: how many will really come?

Split your invite list by how far people have to travel. It estimates how many are likely to come, what to book seats and catering for, and how many tables you need, then prints a sheet to fill in as RSVPs arrive. Free, no sign-up, and nothing leaves your browser.

1. Who you're inviting

2. Tables and catering (optional)

Wedding guest count questions

How many invited wedding guests actually come?

Planners often use a rule of thumb: most guests who live nearby come (around 85 to 95%), fewer who need a hotel night (around 65 to 80%), and far fewer who need a flight (around 35 to 55%). Your own families and friends may differ, so treat the result as a range, not a promise.

What number should I give the venue and caterer?

Book the space and get quotes for the high end of the range, so you are never short of seats. Most caterers want a final count a week or two before the day: give them the real RSVP number then.

Do I count the two of us?

Yes. You need seats and meals too. The box is ticked by default; untick it if your venue counts you separately.

Why does a destination wedding lower the count?

When everyone has to travel, cost and time off decide more of the answers. The estimator trims every group's rate when you tick it.

Does this save anything?

No. The numbers are worked out in your browser and nothing is stored or sent. Print the count before you close the page.
