Secret Santa generator

Add a free Secret Santa draw to your blog or site

Writing about Secret Santa or a family gift exchange? Paste one block of code and your readers can draw names right inside your post, keep couples apart and send each person a private link to their match. It is free, nobody signs up, and no one is asked for an email address.

Try it here first

This is exactly what your readers will see. Draw a few names to try it.

1. Copy the embed code

Paste it into an HTML or embed block where you want the draw to appear.

If your editor strips out frames (some newsletter tools do), link to the free generator instead.

3. A paragraph to put above it (optional)

Use it as it is or change it to suit your post.

Questions from writers and organizers

Is the Secret Santa embed really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no fee and no limit on draws, for you or your readers. A small credit line at the bottom of the draw links back to Toast & Tally.

Do my readers need an account or an email address?

No. They type the names, draw, and copy each person's message into a text or group chat. Nobody signs up, and no one is asked for an email address.

What happens to the names my readers type?

They stay in your reader's browser and inside the private links they send. Each person's match lives in the part of their link after the # sign, which browsers never send to any server. The draw sends us anonymous counts of what happens (the draw opened, a draw made and how many people were in it, a link copied), never a name, a match or the site it sits on, and it does not use cookies or saved storage.

What do the private links open?

Each link opens a page on toastandtallyco.com where that person taps to see who they are giving to, with the spending limit, date and note if your reader added them.

Can the organizer see who drew whom?

Not in the list: in private-link mode the matches are never shown on the organizer's screen. An organizer who opens someone else's link would see that person's match, so each link should go only to its owner.

Where can I paste it?

Anywhere you can paste it into an HTML or embed block, such as the Custom HTML block in WordPress, a Code block in Squarespace, an Embed element in Wix or the HTML view of a Blogger post. If your editor removes frames, use the plain link instead.

What does the short script after the frame do?

It is optional. It lets the frame grow to fit the draw, so readers never scroll inside it. It only listens for a height message from toastandtallyco.com. Leave it out and the frame stays 760 pixels tall and scrolls inside.

How do I remove it?

Delete the block from your post. There is nothing to cancel.

Prefer the full page? The free Secret Santa generator does the same draw, and the press and bloggers page has screenshots and links for every free tool.
